Free-lance interpreter - Estonian booth
As a free-lance interpreter, my main employers are the European Parliament and the European Commission. I also work on the private market which provides a wide array of subjects and situations to train my flexibility and professional development muscle :) That was the reason to take part in "English in the Caribbeans" course since the modern world with modern media do not speak BBC English any more.
My expectations for the course were fulfilled and exceeded. I learned so much both at school and on the streets after classes, listening to people speak to each other, training my ear to their pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary. And I must say that two months after the course I find myself enjoying my work more - yes, speakers still use non-standard English, but now I understand where they come from, I do not get upset - just go with the flow.
